Shandong Province
Shandong Province (in simplified Chinese 山東省) is located at the bottom of Yellow
River in China. It has a very rich amount of resources so that the development
of the province is quite rapid.
In Shandong, there are a lot of farmers and the agricultural products are of
high quality. Some products, like cotton and peanuts, are all very famous in
China and some of them are exported to other parts of the country. Therefore,
farming is very important for Shandong to build up its fame as well as create a
source of GDP for the province.
Of course, in 21st century, just primary industry is definitely not sufficient
to support the growth of a province. In Shandong, there are also a lot of
secondary and tertiary industries. For secondary industry, you would be able to
find some heavy industries, like mining industries. Of course, production of
beer in Qingdao of this Province is also very famous in the world.
For tertiary industry, however, the development is still lagging behind the
average rate of the country. There are some financial firms in the country, but
the development of them is quite slow. Besides financial industries, some
industries like hotel are also not very prosperous. Therefore, development of
the tertiary industry is of utmost importance for the province. As mentioned
above, the development of secondary and tertiary industries is very important
for the development of provinces nowadays. If Shandong could not alter the
present situation, it would be quite difficult for it to outshine other
provinces in the future.
Recently, the provincial government has done a lot of things to boost one type
of tertiary industries, the tourism. Yes, Shandong really has a lot of places
which could be promoted as tourist spots. Therefore, the government is trying to
boost tourism in order to earn foreign currency.
